Spector® SB-1™
 |
The first commercially successful bass
design by The Spector Guitar Company,
the SB-1™ was made between 1975 and 1979.
It was from the SB-1™ that Ned
Steinberger developed the NS-Bass™.
The horn shape and the overall
curvy-nature of the SB-1™ greatly
influenced Ned's direction and the
resulting product was something so
radically different that shortly after
its introduction orders for the SB-1™
dramatically dropped off.
It is notable that one of the first
Spector Artists to play a Spector Bass
before large audiences was Gene Simmons
of the legendary rock band Kiss.
Gene played Spectors for nearly a decade
and his primary axe of choice was a
specially modified SB-1™ Stuart had made
for him. |
